Discover Music

Nexus has an exclusive song recognition system connected to an extensive repository of music data called Discover Music. This system locates similar songs and artists to your music library from our Music Discovery database. With a tab selected in the Discover Music window, Nexus will immediately look for similar songs or artists in the Music Discovery database that are similar to your selected song. You can view the list of matches in the Discover Music window on the left side of Nexus.

Artist Discovery
Select the Artist tab at the top of the Discover Music window. Artists that are similar to the artist selected in your playlist will be displayed. Click the arrow button (Mac) next to the artist name or the [+] button (PC). This will open a drop down list displaying the songs for that artist.

Song Discovery
Select the Song tab at the top of the Discover Music window. Songs that are similar to the song selected in your playlist will be displayed.

Adding Music To Your Playlist
Next to each recommended song title is either a green add song or two icons Play Amazon, one for the AmazonMP3 store and one for audio streaming playback of the recommended song. The add song icon means you already own this song and by clicking this icon you can add the song to the bottom of the selected playlist. The AmazonMP3 icon and the play icon means this song was not found in your library but you can preview/purchase it from AmazonMP3 and automatically add the song to your selected playlist or click the play button to listen to a full version of the song. An Amazon customer account is required to make a purchase from the Amazon MP3 Music Store. In some instances, Amazon may not have the song available as MP3. If this happens a "No Match Found" message will appear along with some possible alternatives and a search dialog allowing you to refine the search for that song.

Adding Amazon Purchased Music To Your Playlist
After making an Amazon purchase and completing the Amazon download of the song, Nexus will display a prompt to add the purchased track to your selected Nexus playlist. Selecting "Yes" will place the song at the bottom of the selected playlist. The actual downloaded song will also be added to your music library based on the preferences you selected within the Amazon Download application that is part of AmazonMP3. Turning Off Discover Music Recommendations
At times it may be convenient to turn the Discover Music engine off. You can do so by clicking the DiscoverMusicOff button directly to the right of the Discover Music window.

Helpful Hints
Nexus uses a variety of characteristics to match your song to our database. One of the key characteristics is the artist and title. Correct spelling is important to getting the most matches. Also, having a genre and year of release tagged to each song will return more accurate matches.
